Girly Pink Gradient

Just a quick post today!

I did a pink gradient using Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Whirlwind White, Zoya Shelby, Zoya Lara, and Confetti Pink Confetti.

I like the way they turned out, but I definitely could have cleaned up a little better.

A couple of hours after I did my nails, I decided I wanted to spruce up my nails a little bit more. I stamped my nails using a bow design. I can't remember what stamping plate it is, but if you really want to know, just ask in my comments and I'll dig it up. I stamped using Wet N Wild Black Creme. I then added rhinestones from the Born Pretty Store to the ring finger to add a little bling.

I love how girly my nails look. I'll probably keep this mani on for a little longer than I normally do.

Thanks for reading and have a good day!

Zoya Ivanka

Sorry for the lack of posting! I was adjusting to working full-time and part-time.  I may have to turn in my two weeks at my part-time job. Its a little overwhelming working both, and doesn't leave me time to blog!

Today I'm going to share with you Zoya Ivanka.  This was a gorgeous gold glass-flecked green. Ivanka is definitely a stunner.

I'm so glad to finally have this gem in  collection.  I don't know why I waited this long to buy it. It applied wonderfully though a little thin, and took 3 coats to reach the opacity and the sparkliness that I wanted. Its so shiny, and I love that glass-flecks aren't as difficult to get off as glitters are.

Well I'll leave you with that for now!
Thanks for reading.

Jelly Sandwich - Flakies

Hello everyone!

Its been a few days since I've posted but I was too busy just relaxing and enjoying being out of school before I started my full time job. I started today, but luckily it's an at-home job. Even though I'll be working from home, I'll still be pretty busy.

Today's post was inspired by Ivana from Ivana Thinks Pink.  I copied the mani she did here. Just like Ivana did I used OPI Too Hot Pink To Hold 'Em. For the flakies, I used Nubar 2010.

The flakies aren't nearly as visible in my pictures as they are in real life. I loved this combo, so subtle but very pretty. The mani looked like it was glowing.

Neither polish gave me any trouble, but I had tons of layers. I started off with base coat of course, followed by a coat of OPI THPTHE (geez what an abbreviation). Then I followed with a coat of 2010, THPTHE, another coat of 2010, and THPTHE once again. I topped all of that with Seche Vite. So many coats of polish!

Well until next time, bye!

Zoya Arizona and Lara + Stamping

Hi there!

I have a couple of more Zoyas to share with you today.  I used Zoya Arizona, a bright orange creme, and Lara, a fuchsia creme.  I used Arizona for all my fingers except my ring finger. I used Lara for the accent ring finger.

I used two coats for both of the polishes. The polishes applied smooth like butter. I love Zoya's formula. These colors are so bright and cheery. I really liked the polish as is, but I got bored and stamped over them.

The stamping isn't perfect. I didn't get the image as close to the cuticle as I would have liked, and a couple spots got messed up, but I was still happy with it.  I used Cheeky Plate CH6 and Wet N Wild Black Creme. It looks kinda of like a mosaic flower design. I think next time I use this image I might try to fill in the lines with different colors so It actually looks like a mosaic.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hits Mari Moon Cool

Hi!
Today, I have swatches of Hits Mari Moon Cool. I bought this off of Llowre a while back. I loved the color, but the polish itself was a mess.

This is a gorgeous multichrome that shifts from gold to green for the most part with flashes of blue and indigo.  Its like darker, more pigmented cousin of Chanel Peridot (which I don't own, but I have a dupe). I used two coats, and the application sucked. It was thick and the brush was horrible.

Look at this mess! It made it impossible to keep polish off of my cuticles. At least the color is amazing.

This is my second day posting in a row! I hope I can keep this up.
Thanks for reading!

Girly Stars & My Unicorn Tattoo

Happy Mother's Day!

I've got a simple, but cute, mani to share with you today. I just stamped stars on top of Essie Pink-a-Boo.

Essie Pink-a-Boo is from the Resort 2012 collection. It a sheer cool toned pink with pink and blue shimmer. I absolutely love it.

Look at that gorgeous shimmer!

I used three coats of Pink-a-Boo, since it is a little sheer. The polish didn't give me any problems, which Essies rarely do. I stamped with Wet N Wild Black Creme and Cheeky plate CH5. I just got the Cheeky stamp plates earlier this week, and love the designs so far.

I got a tattoo on Thursday! It's something that I've been meaning to get, and I finally had the time and money to. I think it turned out great. This is my fourth tattoo, but definitely not my last.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day.

Thanks!

Random Zoya Swatches

Hey there!

Sorry I haven't been posting that often. I've been very busy with school. Luckily, there's only one more week left in the semester. Even though I haven't been posting, I have been painting my nails and posting to Instagram.  If you'd like, you can follow me on Instagram at helenk90.

I just wanted to share really quick two pictures I have on my phone that I've already posted to Instagram.

Zoya Wednesday and Maisie
I used two coats of Wednesday and topped it off with one coat of Maisie. The polishes gave me no problems with application. I loved this combo, it reminded me of the beach.

Zoya Tracie
This is the polish I have on my nails now. It applied nicely and I only needed two coats. This color is a little frosty but I still like it; its a very pretty shade of green. It makes me want guacamole.

Sorry for lack of posts! It'll get better I promise.

Tribal Nails Inspired by Seventeen Magazine

I'm posting twice in one day!

I have pictures of some actual nail art today. I did these yesterday, and it is still on my nails... for now. I have a digital subscription to Seventeen magazine, even though I'm 22. In this month's issue (May 2012), there is a page with nail art, and I decided to try out one of the manis.

Here is the picture of the nail art out of the magazine.

My version is a little bit different.  I used different polishes with the exception of the red. My tribal print is also not the same.

This is what the mani looked like before the nail art. I love the color combination. These are colors I never would have picked to use together.

In these pictures you can sort of see my nail line, but its not visible in person.  I used two coats of each polish.

Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, OPI A Roll in the Hague, and Zoya Sooki.

These are what I used to make the tribal print: Kiss Nail Artist Fine Art Pen, and Nail Art Paint in white.

This was really easy to do.  It was the first time I used the Fine Art Pen, and it made it really easy to do nail art. It reminded me of a black Sharpie, but with a finer point.

Thanks for stopping by!

Zoya Haul

Hi everyone!

I received my polishes from the Zoya polish exchange a couple of days ago. The day after my April haul actually.  I purchased 14 polishes during the polish exchange.  I got the Beach and Surf collection, and two other polishes I had been wanting to get for a while now.

First up is the Beach collection: Arizona, Reagan, Lara, Wednesday, Shelby, and Tracie.

Surf collection: Zuza, Myrta, Carly, Rory, Meg, and Kimber.

And finally: Ivanka, and Maisie.

I'm so excited to have the Beach and Surf collection, I loved the swatches that other bloggers have posted.

Did you take advantage of the polish exchange? And if so, what polishes did you pick up?
